When it comes to music, I generally just stick with modern stuff that fits within rock. It’s not very often that I deviate away from that, and when I do it probably means the stuff’s pretty good… para ejemplo:
- Some stuff by the Black Eyed Peas: I don’t know why but even though I generally don’t like hip hop and rap, I like their music. My favorite songs by them are “I Gotta Feeling” and “Let’s Get It Started”. During both of my first times listening to these songs, I had no idea that the Black Eyed Peas had created them.
- Queen: No seriously. I used to be very cynical about anything made before the 90’s. That was before my World History teacher started playing stuff like “Bicycle Race” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” while we took our tests and quizzes (like with the Black Eyed Peas songs, I had no idea these were by Queen… I honestly thought they came from some sort of musical). Now “Bohemian Rhapsody” is one of my favorite songs and I have a sudden impulse to buy an iTunes giftcard for myself so that I can download more Queen….
- The Soundtrack from Sherlock Holmes: The next time you watch Sherlock Holmes, listen to the music. You have to admit that sounds pretty epic.
- “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus: Imagine for a moment that you are sitting in your car listening to the radio. There’s a song playing right now that you can’t identify but you think sounds incredible yet very familiar, and you’ve definitely heard the voice of the singer somewhere before. You look over to your little sibling and/or your friend who spends the time mostly watching the Disney Channel and you suddenly recognize the song and who sings it. Yeah, yet again I was listening to a song I really liked yet had no idea who was singing it until later on. I really think “The Climb” is about a hundred steps above “Nobody’s Perfect”. For once, I commend thee, Miley.
At this moment I can think of nothing else. Okay au revoir…
